quick 4runner rear spring question

My 4runner had spacers and stock springs in the back, I removed the spacers and am about to put ome 906's in there.

Are there supposed to be some sort of clamp that holds the upper part of the springs in place? there were not any on there with the spacer installed.

I have icon piggyback shocks in the back that let the axle droop out farther than stock.

I made some bolt on plates for the upper spring mount and used hose clamps on the lower spring mount.

They are just supposed to sit in there, nothing clamps them down. It would take a ton of flex to make one pop out on the trail, Ive never seen it happen on our rigs

The icons allow a lot more travel. Unless the spacer I took out was stock (3" thick rubber spacer, cone one still in there). When I droop the suspension out now the springs come out of there seat.

On my '99, I replaced my rear stock coil springs with OME 890's. I don't remember any sort of clamp holding the spring in at all. It would seem to me that having something like that would be a good idea... but think that if they were really needed Toyota would have designed as such. Would be VERY dangerous to have a rear spring just pop-out. (I have the stock "cone" bottom-out stoppers as well)

I think the problem here is that since "factory" parts have been swapped out to allow more droop, the "factory" solution to keep the springs my not work. The only thing i can think of would be limiting straps. I had to use them on my old XJ to keep the front coils from popping out.
