Questions about super chargers
Im looking to buy a 2000 to 2002 4 Runner. I had some questions about the s/c that can be installed on these. How do you use one? Is it on all the time, or some of the time? I assume that the amount of boost can be adjusted. How do you set it when you want to drive normally? Does it increase the wear and tear on the engine? Does it cause a drop in gas mileage if you drive normally?
In other words, my wife would drive it as well as myself, and we might want just a little more bottem end oomph to bump us out into traffic, but still be able to get the best gas mileage from it. Can it be adjusted to do just that, and then at another time be adjusted for as much power as possible for when we tow with it? Thanks. Any other help or thoughts ?

I just read some on Gadgets site. Sounds good so far. But now I need a bottom line. Just what does it take to do a s/c upgrade and maintain the high reliability of the 4 runner? In other words, do I need to look at it as a package, like s/c, injectors, tranny update = xxx amount of dollars? Is it better to do the whole 9 yards or not do it at all, or will just a s/c install result in good gains and still good toyota reliability with normal driving and some towing?

To S/C
To supercharge, you need a bit more than just the supercharger kit itself. Bigger injectors, a way to control the injectors (fuel computer), a transmission cooler, better fuel pump, a BR-3 to tune with, tools, any install parts, and TIME.
