question on keyless entry for a 98 4 runner

question on keyless entry for a 98 4 runner
i have the keyless entry where it's 2 buttons with no writing or anything. the top button locks and unlocks, and if you hold it, the alarm goes off. my question is.... what does the bottom button do?
