Alright, I just got my hubs put back together. I decided to go ahead with these hubs and see what happens after I install them.

Here's my question. How hard are your hubs to turn?

My hubs turn fine but I think they are a little harder to turn than I would like. I can turn them with my hand. I realize that they won't be easy to turn but I'm just not sure. They turn much easier than they did when I first got them. And yes I have everything put back together correctly. No, I didn't use a lot of grease. I put on enough without it being too much IMO. The hubs work fine too.

Make sure the rubber gasket between the dial and the housing is in right. When I put mine back together I had a tough time moving one of them. Flipped the rubber piece over and it worked much better. Too much grease will bind them too, but you've covered that. What grease are you using?

 

They should be a tad tough so they stay put when you drive. It's normal... you don't need to sweat it.

 

I'm just using some Pennzoil MP wheel bearing grease (red stuff)that I bought at Wally World. I think I've got the gasket right.

Yeah that's what I figured but I wanted to make sure. I would say a "tad tough" is probably a good description of the way they feel.

Mine can be a pain in the a$$ especially if its cold out. I've had to use a screw driver a time or two.

 

I just put mine on last week. They are stiff, but I like it. I dont feel like they would slip or anything.

 

I obsessed about the stiffness at first too.
It's gonna be a little stiff...think about the clutch and stuff that's meshing. I think as long as there is no grinding or sand or grit inside you'll be ok.

You're gonna notice a huge difference. Check your mpg now, and again after you install.
