Question About New Tires

I need to get new tires and was wondering if I could fit a 285/75/16 on a 99 Limited without any kind of lift? If not what is the biggest tire I could put on the stock wheel without a lift?

285/75R16s can be thought of as 33x10.50s. So, yes they'd go on the stock wheels. And, no they won't fit on the truck with no mods.

Will a 1" body lift allow for enough clearance?

I think you need about 2" min., and you'll still rub on full turn

I honestly wouldn't think so. There's a lot of guys on here with the same rig, someone will know For Certain, but I think you'd need something like 2+ inches, maybe 3, to do it. More if you actually want to play off road, less if all you want is the look for your street cruiser.

I'm running 285's on my 16x8 Tech 1's WITH an OME lift..and I still have rubbing. Viscious rubbing, front and back. Tis why I got a 2" BL.

So no, there is no way.

I was thinking about a body lift also, but I really dont wan't that awkward gap between the body and the bumper. Every time I see a nice truck, then I see it has a body lift I'm really disappointed because of that gap.
