Putting Taco Diff lock in 4runner.

I am putting the "RR Diff Lock" ecu and switch from a Tacoma ( I know it is a taco's because the part number is ""35060 instead of ""35070) into a 1998 ltd 4runner. the ecu to my 4runner was removed, along with the switch. Long story short I have the locker installed minus the ecu and switch.

Anyways, the wires coming out of the ecu (remember it is for a taco) do not match the internal wires coming out of my rig. Here are some pictures:

The wires coming out of the ecu:

and the wires coming out of my 4runner:

as you can see, the wires do not match up.

My question is:

what wires need to be matched with what wires?

Is there possibly a schematic or coloring chart I can follow to make sure that the correct ones are matched?

I am also doing the grey wire mod. There is a a grey wire on the ecu, and obviously no grey wire coming out of the car. For this, I will ground the red/blue wire, and tape off the grey wire from the ecu, correct?

thanks for your help in advance.

the only thing I can think of is to get a hanes (or eqiv.) manual for both and do some comparing between the wiring diagrams in the two manuals...or maybe someone makes a wiring harness connector to do exactly what your trying to do...

Yeah maybe I will give toyota a call, or possibly visit a dealer for just the harness connector.

Brian2sun, I will give inchworm a call, or maybe just buy the harness from them.

is it possible for anyone to just take a look at the ecu for a 4runner, and maybe just read off the pin # and the color matched to it? then i can match those colors to the pin # on the ecu i got.

You can find them online. Search.

You need both schematics, compare, solder.

well actually that site gave me the perfect diagram for tacomas, but not the 4runner. all the ones i found for the 4runner were either empty links, or were for 2002+ 4runners, so i couldnt find wiring for the rear, only center.

i did however find another link. i think i have dug around enough to get the right idea.
