putting in a 350

hello
ive heard that you can put a 350 in a 86 4runner. what exactly do you have to change to make this fit?

Not as much as some would think, the engine actually fits in quite nicely. You will need to do something to adapt your transfer case to the new transmission (don't even think about using your current one). You will need to get (or make) the appropriate motor mounts. You will need to change out the radiator. You will need to deal with the wiring issues. With IFS, you will need a special oilpan and/or a suspension lift that drops the front differential. A lift isn't a bad idea anyway since you will need stiffer torsion bars to support the extra weight (about 150-200lbs worth). With the correct motor mount and tranny combination, your current driveshafts should be just fine (mine were).
