Propeller shaft bolt

hey guys in the manuals it says re-torque propeller shaft bolt on every page. where is that located and do you guys actually re-torque it?? i have 101k miles on my taco and from what i know its never been re-torqued

That would be the 8 bolts that hold your prop shaft to your gearbox and pumpkin. I've got 300k on my truck and have never re-torqued them. My$0.01 worth.

just make sure that if you ever take your driveshaft off you torque them to specs, then after a couple days of driving torque them one last time.

I had a friend who just used a big wrench and got them as tight as he could the first time and his driveshaft lost 3 bolts a month later and started smacking the bottom of his cab!

I had another friend who put a new 1 peice rear shaft in his 79 and he lost the whole damn thing because it wasnt torqued well enough.

ingersol 3/8" impact it with a impact wobbley socket and forget it.

Impact wrench is about the worst way to torque a bolt. Why even have a spec at that point?
