Power steering rebuild
I've read a few right ups on this and it all seems straight forward. The things is, what are the long term results? I have searched and found no real opinion on this. Locally a few guys told me its not worth it, just buy a new one. If a rebuild would give me a long term solution I wouldnt mind trying it, but if Im only gaing a year or so, before needing a new one I will just go new.
Anybody thats done this either way whats your opinion? Thanks

I guess it would depend on what's wrong with yours. My 93 PS was just leaking and the rebuild kit fixed it good as new, but everything was well with-in spec for inside tolerances. When you say new do you mean a remaned one? If so, all they probably did to reman it was put in a rebuild kit then sell it as remanufactured. At least with your's you know the history.

I figured a rebuilt would be no better than a fix it myself, but it may not be the problem but i suspect it is. It turns hard on start ups and when cold , squeals alot more more barely getting full lock to lock, I put some stuff(top of my head cant remember brand) in it you know the fix it gimmic stuff. It made problem less severe so I think I'm in the ball park as needing a new power steering pump.....who knows.

flushing
When you have one replaced at the dealer they flush out the rack and lines. Its just in case you have parts floating around from the othere one.I use synthetic fluid. It wouldnt hurt to install a cooler as well.
