Power Steering Pressure Hose

Has anyone replaced their Power Steering Hoses?

The Pressure side has a banjo bolt on the pump side. I cant tell if the leak is coming from the pressure or return line; but think it is most likely the pressure line near the rack, but at 140K miles probably should replace both.

The hydraulic fittings for both the pressure and return lines on the Rack looks to be nearly impossible to get to without dropping the whole Rack?

OEM/Aftermarket part numbers for the pressure line?

Thanks,

Mark

Power Steering Hose

Well NAPA has a pressure side hose (part number 72966) for about $93.00.

I found the same hose on Rock Auto; it is made by Edelmann (part number 80269 for about $65.00. Only problem is it does not look like the OEM hose; the fittings look right; 16 MM Banjo with switch port on pump end, and 16 MM Male flare on rack end, 32.5" long. But it does not have the hard line; that functions as a cooling portion in front of the frame. It is hard line to pump; then hydraulic hose to the hard line portion at the rack.

The OEM pressure line is hard line to hydraulic hose to hard line (in front of frame) to hydraulic hose; then back to hard line again at the rack fitting.

Has anyone replaced their OEM line with the Edelmann/NAPA line?

YES, I tried the Edelmann hose. It is grossly dissimilar to the OEM part.
Vendor did give me a refund, thankfully!
