So I'm having trouble figuring out why my power locks will only unlock. It doesn't matter if I use the key fob or the door switches. SO....I figured I would tap the impressive knowledge base of Yotatech! Thanks in advance, John.

 

It's the body ecu. Aka the fuse box by your left knee. I tried to troubleshoot for weeks trying to avoid spending the $300 something on it but I gave in and I wish I did it sooner.

 

So the body control unit is not repairable as far as you know?

 

i assume no aftermarket alarm that could have been installed improperly or caused the wire to break

 

Nope, no after-market alarm or anything. In addition I had the rear left brake light go out out at the same time. I tried to fix it only to find that the bulb is not the issue. Think it could be related?
