Has anyone installed a toggle switch to their power antenna to control it going up and down? My antenna's not broken yet so I don't plan on doing a whip mod anytime soon, but I would like to install a toggle to move it up and down when I need it.

I read the whip mod from: http://www.4runners.org/writeups/whip/index.html and saw the diagram of the antenna to the back of the deck. But wouldn't I need to splice the toggle into the wire that leads to the relay switch behind the front dash panel? That's the one that I hear "click" a few seconds after shutting the engine off.

yep... spliced a simple switch into the blue line coming out of the back of the stereo. it stays down 98% of the time due to sat. and ipod

You can use the manual switch from the LandCruiser, it mounts nicely in the dash.

 

Power Antenna black/white + at radio

there are different ways of doing it but this is the simplest way.

cut the wire and use a switch to power the wire that leads to the relay module.
