W/ my AT and mixed driving I am averaging 15.5 mpg. On longer freeway trips I average up to 17 mpg. Driving conservatively I've gotten 19mpg...that's the best I've ever done. I would say my normal driving range is 15-17mpg. Don't normally complain until gas is over $2 a gallon.

Around 16-17 MPG
I check by resetting my trip meter, fill up the tank. Then drive until I need another fillup. Look at how much gas you put in (i.e. 14.2 gallons) and how many miles you drove (i.e. 261 miles)
Then compute
261/14.2= 18.38MPG

4-Runner: V6, 5spd, 31's on 15x8 Centerline Hellcats (heavy) with 4.56 gears, no lift, 90% town and 10% country roads driving with respect nets me about 19.5 mpg. Haven't had it long enough to take a freeway trip and see what it does there.
Truck: V6, 5spd, BFG 32's on 15x7 Yota wheels, 4.56s with Lockrite rear locker, 2" body lift, 288k on OG motor gets 14-18 mpg. Mostly 15, but if your real nice to her she'll get 18.

17.3 mpg out of the last tank. That is with probably a hundred pounds of crap in the back and 3-4 people some of the time in windy conditions. About half of that is highway miles. My last tank was 16.3 mpg.
31" tires
4.10 gears (orginally geared for 225's)
Auto Tranny
Aisin Hubs (just got those on this weekend...will post about it later. I've been really busy.)
I try to keep her under 3k rpms when driving. It's not a drag race from light to light. I go easy on her. Speedo usually reads 65 on the interstate but that is really about 72 mph.
My overall best is 21 MPG with about 70 miles in the city on that tank. My mileage used to be in the 11-12 range but after doing some tune-up stuff it got much better.
These mileage numbers include adjustment for the bigger tires and the speedo being off.
I hope that was some help.

1988 4Runner V6 5 speed
36x14.50x15 Super Swamper TSL Radial Tires
stock 4.10 gears
14-15.5 mpg corrected*
* I hope you guys who have larger tires have corrected your mileage. What I did to correct it was, find a mile marker on the highway, see where your odometer is, then drive a mile to the next marker, and see where your odometer is now. Mine started on 0 and ended on 8, so my odometer is 20% off. So, I now have to add 20% to the total miles on the odometer. So, for instance,
My odometer said 178 miles. 178+20%=213. 213/14.2 gallons=15 mpg.
Now if I didn't adjust the odometer for my larger tires, it would appear I have really crappy gas mileage, like this
178 miles / 14.2 gallons = 12.5
FYI my gas mileage hasn't changed since my SAS and 36" tires.
