Hey everyone, so I have a 2002 4runner and I haven't had any problems but I was recently under the hood cleaning the engine bay and noticed a large empty space on the right side of the engine bay behind the battery.
It looks as though something was there and has now been removed. It looks like something went where the two holes are. I have not been able to find any picures on here of that part of the engine bay.
anyway, let me know if anyone has any answers or knows if there was supposed to be something there

looks like theres no charcoal canister ? take a pic from farther away

 

I thought it could be the charcoal canister as well but it turns out on the 01 02 models they moved te canister to the rear by the spare tire so I ruled that one out but it for sure it looks like something is missing

I think my '01 looks the same. There are numerous, unused, holes in and around the engine compartment.

Those are Breathers for the front diff and transfer case. Toyota extended the breathers from the factory starting on the 3rd gen.

EDIT: MY brain is fried I was looking at the wrong thing.
