Be careful with this mod, as with any other, because it can always go wrong. I'm pretty livid right now because the pins on all 4 hinges for the rear doors are very stuck in place and not coming out. The front doors were fine so idk wtf is the problem but, if you can imagine, it's pretty frustrating. I may have a solution in the works but does anyone have suggestions?

It's cool, I got it. Just had to cut off the tops with a hack saw and drill them to their edges and then bang em out.
And I can confirm that the rear window goes down using the key with the doors of.

This is a perfect mod for me since I live in AZ and never use the ac except when my girlfriend makes me.

is there a mod for quick, or even not so quick removal of the rear door of a 3rd gen, 97 in particular. i love just about everything on my 97 over the 94 i had....except the one piece hatchback type rear door. i do a lot of hauling of big, odd shaped items and propping the door open or snugging down against a load makes me a bit nervous. ...thx

Here's my 4Runner with tube doors. I made all 4, but usually get lazy and only swap out the front 2.
