I'm hoping to setup another small run up to big bear soon
Hopefully I'll be able to get all 4 gens of 4runners... Haven't setup an exact date yet as my schedule's abit busy right now so... soon!!!

Yeah, I was just messing around with that aplet to show you what can be done with it.
You can put the YotaTech name on the pics also.
There is also a book flip aplet that looks like a page being flipped that is pretty cool.
No rush on this, I'm sure we will get lots of ideas.

Yes, although I don't particularly like the styling of the 4th gen., it IS still a 4Runner, and a damn good off-roading machine. I think we need to get all 4 4Runners and all 3 (?) Tacomas lined up and have that at the heading. They need to be in this order, or vice-versa: 4th gen. black, 3rd gen. white, 2nd gen. black, 1st gen. white, 3rd gen. Taco white, 2nd gen. Taco black, 1st gen. Taco white. Chances that this will happen out of the blue? One in exactly 1,034,590,832,340,297,662,807, unless we get together somewhere. I just think it'd be a really awesome pic.

Thanks Chris.
I hear that some can not see the aplet because their work computer doesn't suport JAVA
OK, for comparison purposes, here is the original one in color, and a black & white version.
Color
Black & white
These aplets are very easy to make.
PS, you will also notice the years are in order.
Although I did not put in the early '79 to '83 truck style.
That would be about the only pic missing.
Easy to add though.

I don't know, I'm torn between the color pics and the B&W pics. I do like the b&w image we currently have, and the test pics do look good in b&w too. But when you look at them in color, you can see alot more detail, and brings the backgrounds out too. That's nice, especially when you have senic backgrounds like in the test pics.

You can tell those are all WA. state pics too from all the green from the rain we get here with the exception of the 3rd gen.
I think that was Calrockx pic, not sure.
I was in a hurry when looking for pics last night.
Another simple thing that would look nice for a banner would be a clear GIF showing many rigs together and having it clear would look cool on the gray background.
Those are hard to work with though, but look awesome if done right as it looks like you are looking at scenery instead of a rectangular picture like a JPG.

I had cropped a bit out of it, but if someone wants to try it to zoom in better, here it is.

The only thing missing from that pic is a 4th gen 4Runner, Land Cruiser, Tundra, T100, and the '79 truck body style.
It would be very hard to cover all styles at once, because you have many years of the Land Cruiser too.

Perhaps we should have a "Photo Day" mini-run and get as many different variations together somewhere for a photo shoot, then pick out the photos that best illustrate YotaTech
If you were purposely setting the photos up, it might be easier to catch a couple that really caught the essence of the image you are trying to project

i think that's one of my pics, from the recent so cal meet . but to be fair to the 3rd gens, you gotta use an action shot, not a stuck shot
i like watrds photoday idea

I'm sure everybody would agree on using his as the 2nd gen. Also, this poll could be made a sticky so everybody will get a chance to vote. The only problem is rounding up the pictures. I say we should keep them more oriented towards this board. In other words, the weekend warrior type of rigs that still serve as daily drivers and reflect on the kind of rig that most people here drive. It doesn't matter to me where the pics come from; I figure whoever's got the most post up your favorite shots. This would also be an easy way to get all the generations and body types covered.

Another thing to consider is the type of setup.
I dig that fade aplet, but some can't see it from their work PCs.
They might have to go into IEs security settings.
I use to do that to the Boeing computers we had in our break room, as they were setup to not view certain things.
Also I know that aplet, or the table of contents on my webpage bog down my 233MMX in the kid's room.
It takes the page awhile to open up.
With my PIII 500 I use, there is no delay and the aplet works great.
We would not want to bog anyone's system down.
As mentioned, I like the fade aplet, but a regular JPG or animated GIF that rotated several pics would look cool too.
I tired to size these pics as the same size as the present banner, but it squishes out the vehicles.
The aplet is the same width as the banner there now, but taller to keep the pics in proportion.
The pics would look OK if they could be sized correctly to keep the new banner a smaller footprint, than the test one I made.
Oh, did I mention I dig the fade aplet
As for pics, I got gobs on my site, and I'm sure Rob has gobs also of Tacomas in action, as well as Mike (smr4runner) has some too of Wild Bill in action.
I got the pics of Todd & I from our last run a few weeks back.

That's true about the applet, Corey. I suggest from here on out that all our members must have a Pentium III or better.
The only other thing I can think of for the banner is to pick 4 pictures of all 4 generations and merge them all together. Start with the 1st gen on the left and work your way up, using some kind of hazy line to separate to suggest the transition. And of course, have Yotatech.com above or underneath.

Perhaps you could crop those a bit to bring the trucks up some.
