PO330- malfunction or Knock detection?
Guys Im working on a Supercharged 1997 3.4l thats been swapped into a 90 pickup.
The motor is throwing the PO330 code- "knock sensor 2 circuit malfunction"
It doesn't seem like the truck isn't audibly knocking or "pinging".
My question is can the PO330 code mean the sensors are functioning and picking up a knock or is PO330 only thrown when it detects a "malfunction"? Whether its the sensor itself or just the knock sensor wiring harness?
Thanks for any info.

PO330 is a mailbox. (Sorry, pet peeve of mine, PO screws up anyone searching.) If you meant P0330 (now they will find it), it is not an actual knock. It is either the sensor or the wiring (which fails, due to its high-temp, high-vibration location.) That code only sets with an open or a short.

So I pulled it all apart, and the KS harness did have a crack in the insulation that could have been grounding out on the block. All the wires in it did have continuity though...
Im looking for a way to test the actual knock sensors them self now.

Here all this time I thought it was O and not 0. Opps.

Just an update. Changed out the harness and swapped the knock sensors side to side, put it all back together and sure enough P0325 popped up.
Neither knock sensor had continuity, and I didnt have access to an oscilloscope to test them further.
So F it, I spliced the wires and will run it off one knock sensor until I can find a decent price on a new knock sensor.
