Yesterday I was going to work, driving to work my check engine light came on. I dropped my truck of at my normal shop.
I called them and they told me they could scan it. The shop called me and said they could not scan. But they said the problem is the air pump is disconnected, I told them that that is the a/c pump. Then they said the fuel return lines are not hooked up, again I told them that the hose was for the rear heater.
I brought the truck to a trans shop and they could scan it for me. It has a code “52” which is a short circuit or open circuit with the knock sensor. Any ideas or wiring diagram? There is no adnormal noise from the engine. Just the normal from the injectors. Since the light came on I seem to have a power lose. It might just be in my head.When I see lights it makes me paranoid

It depends on your truck, but it is generally on the side of your block, My 22r had it on the pass side, low to the rear just above the oil pan lip. I hope this helps.

Hmmm... I have never seen a 3.0 torn down (lucky, I guess) so I cannot say for sure. It will ALWAYS be on the block, though and usually low, not too hard to find on the 4 cyl's. It is round and has 1 or two wires connected, it is about 19mm, I think.

The knock sensor on 3vze is on the top of the block under the intake.

I couldn't come up with alot of micrgrounding info but it's definately something that can't do any harm and may just work.

I have a 3.0 V6 and the same problem. The knock sensor is under the intake manifold. I'm about to replace mine. The wire that goes to it is on the driver side next to the firewall, or it could come from a spot between the injectors on the driverside of the engine, so someone told me at Toyotanation.com Check your connection, it maybe loose and good luck. I wish I had a four cylinder. I got a huge job ahead of me. Ketman

can't help with the knock sensor issue, but, for future reference, you can easily "scan" the ECU codes yourself with a paper clip. here is a write-up on how:
