Did you get an owners manual with your rig?

feels? Hum, blinking.. could indicate a problem in the, im assuming ADD.. and its not? Not sure, own a 2nd gen. Test, take a sharp corner.. does your rig "hop" happens when 4x4 is engaged as the tires on either sides are traveling different distances, but turning at the same rate in the front. If theres no "hopping" and you will feel it.. then your in 2wd. Other than that, get it looked at quick. Not so good to always drive in 4wd, wears expensive parts out. wont blow anything up pursay..

By corner, I ment at the end of a culdasack or road, turn the wheel as hard as possible.. like your trying to turn around in one lane.. and see if it hops

so the shifter is in H2-H4 (really just 2wd mode till the 4wd button on shifter is pushed and lights stop blinking, then becomes AWD) and not H4L (4hi) or L4L (4low) right?

So make sure ur in the H2-H4 with the 4WD button off and try reversing, stopping and accelerating, turning... all of these seems to help....pretty much anything besides just keeping a constant speed.

If that don't work then probably should start looking at vac lines and electrical connections.

My 99 used to have problems going into AWD mode which is when you leave the shifter in the H2-H4 and just push the 4WD button on the shifter. The previous owner almost never went into AWD or H4L (4hi) and the owners manual says to use 4wd for at least 10 miles a month, I think this was one of the reasons why mine had trouble.

After using AWD more often it seems to engage much faster now as in 1 or 2 seconds of light flashing instead of 10 minutes of light flashing and then sometimes working. Also i changed ALL my fluids but pretty sure that did nothing to help my problem.

good luck!

unplug your battery and let it sit for 10 minutes then plug it back in, see if that clears it up before you take it anywhere, and then i would take it to toyota....

85 bucks for the diagnostic fee and it goes towards any repairs that need to be made

Most car parts shops will do a diagnostic for free and I just pulled my CEL and discovered it was the throttle position sensor problem.
