Pioneer AVIC-D3 install

Hey all, I just got this unit and was reading up on it and see that Pioneer says to hook up a wire to the vehicle speed sensor and then the reverse lights so the GPS will work properly. Anybody done this yet and can point me to the correct wire for the VSS? I've installed many headunits over the years but this is my first time on one with DVD/GPS so I don't want to foul anything up.
Thanks in advance
Jason

Not totally sure on this but if your receiver needs to know if the vehicle is moving you may want to hook it to the ABS sensor that some of us have used to hook up our FMU so it knows that the vehicle is in motion. Hmmm, reverse lights? What is VSS? Wonder what on earth they need you to hook up to the reverse line for? Unless you are hooking up the backup camera ... I believe this unit set up so that you can not view the GPS or DVD while the vehicle is in motion. These units disable the video ouptput to the viewing screen unless you are stopped with the parking brake set. Take alook at your installation manual again. Being able to view the video screen while driving in most states is consider illegal. Let us know how it goes.

VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
This is so the GPS will work properly with no lag and knows the direction you're headed instantly. The reverse needs hooked up so the GPS knows forwards/reverse also but I assume for a rear facing camera as well. I know about not having the DVD on while in gear (headunit only) but I plan to deactivate that as well. I've just never installed anything this involved and thought I'd ask here. I went to toyota-4runner.org also and I'm trying to find info about the install.
Is there a service manual here that can be downloaded? I haven't found it yet and thought it would have all of the wires labeled to ease in the install.

Between Avic411.com and this post: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/p...talled-178844/
I think I have located everything I need to hook this up properly now. Just have to find a warm place to do it since it's 32 with flurries and blustery now.
