Pin out of cig lighter?

Really? The 4runners have non standard cig lighter wiring when the center pin is negative and the shell is positive?

I've tested two different ones, same result. No usb plug in sockets will work without requiring something..

My truck wiring has two spade terminals. The large one goes to ground. Small to v+. Is this not what others have?

I take it someone switched my truck wiring, I guess. It seems so much like it was from the factory.

Does the lighter itself care which side is positive, I wouldn't think so. It's just a resistor, yet mine did not work. Perhaps my wiring is so poor/ resistive if it was messed with that it can't draw enough current to heat the lighter?

You are sure the lighter is good.

They can die of old age

Maybe someone had the dash out and got the wires on wrong

Can't say for sure on the lighter. I am measuring the socket and connector in the truck. Voltage there, just opposite what I expected.
