Speedhut wrote back and told me they'll exchange my tach and send one with the TRD logo. They also stated that only the regular indiglos have the red-line glowing...not the reverse indiglos. Not sure why theirs doesn't when other companies reverse indiglos have several colors...

They are sending me a new set and I asked them to include the TRD logo on them, but I haven't heard back from them in several days. I really hope they do something about the extra hole on the fuel gauge. I hadn't even noticed until ya'll pointed it out. Hopefully, they'll take care of it.

I got an email from Speedhut this morning. They said that the new gauges had already been sent to me by the time they got my email. I think that's bull. They won't have the TRD logo, I just hope that they sent a set without the extra hole on the fuel gauge.

They'll have them back on their site any day. They will also have the HVAC panel on the "model developement" page sometime this week. Keep checking...

Paul,
Quick question for you. I've got some green from the stock gauges that is shining through. It looks like the green light is illuminating the needles. It looks ok, but how did you get your needles to glow just orange, and now have any green shining through?

Matt:

Did you remove the green covers from the gauge bulbs? I believe there are 3 of them.

Late post...but anyways... received my Speedhut gauges a while back, but been too busy and the weather's been bad until yesterday...so I just installed them...

I have a '01 SR5 Runner 4x4... I ordered reverse indiglo, silver face with blue font. I wanted the palm tree graphic and a text message ( they put the graphic on speedometer and text on tachyometer).

Initially, they sent me the gauges and I had some issues:
1) There was no "x1000 RPM" on the tachyometer
2) There was no "MPH" on the speedometer
3) There was no "km/h" or inner scale in km on the speedometer

So, I asked them about this and they took care of it! In order to fit the inner km/h on the speedometer, they had to move things around. So I said, just forget about the text message and put the palm tree graphic on the tachyometer. So that's all fixed and pretty good (though I asked them to put the km/h and inner scale in a different color, which they didn't do--that's OK).

I just installed them yesterday (my gauges look like flips4runner's above) -- the only problem I'm finding is the gauge with the gas amount is off. There are two holes and a square.
1) The top hole is way too small and not all of the "CHECK ENGINE" + graphic of engine show
2) The square is a tad too far to the right and I see "RUISE" instead of "CRUISE" ( really, I see half a "C")
3) There is a 3rd hole below the square -- there's nothing supposed to be there?

Well, I'm afraid to trim a little and mess up the circuit so I'm going to write them again now and see what they say...

Otherwise..they look great... have not tapped into the power supply yet to try them 'cause my sig. other was giving me hell... So I'll do that today..

Flips4runner...curious to see what you did about the extra hole and the other 2 not being big enough?

OK...I did the ol' lemme fix up my rig while at work thing...

So I hooked it up to power -- it looks great. I just mushed the red wire into the 15 amp ACC fuse spot for now...

I have the upgrade inverter for the reverse indiglo -- it has 2 settings B &G..

When I use B ( low setting) it works fine. When I use G ( brighter) there's a buzz or hum coming from the inverter --

Anyone else find this?

Am I doing wrong to get power from the ACC fuse... I plan to use an Add-afuse eventually.err or tap into the dimmer wire...

4Fonz,
What did they tell you about the cut outs on the gas gauge? I've got an '01 and mine are exactly the same as you described above. I'm still a little ticked that the openings are cut out exactly as the icon is shaped, but even more pissed that the cut outs don't line up with the icons. What did they tell you?

reverse indiglo hum

I have that same hum in my reverse indiglos, but in the blue setting. I just tucked the inverter far enough up into the dash so that I don't hear it very often.

LSU, I wrote to Speedhut about the cutouts. They said that they made the gauges to the specs of the gauge console tht they used. If you are unhappy... so sorry.
