So I did some hill climbing and wheeling today with the new setup, and it did seem to even out the power curve climbing hills at freeway speeds and I noticed it just a little off the line.

I will do a little research on how much these will cost in parts. I am sure you can use any hose clamps you want, I just used the ones that came with the boots/tube. I will get back to you guys in the next few days.

Nice clamps they look a wee bit like turbine engine air particle separator coupling clamps....
Nice job I used the same 1/4 NPT fittings on mine as well.

Great looking product. I'm interested if you decide to market it. I recently installed a K&N FIPK on a 94 X-cab and not pleased with the induction noise at idle.

I am currently making a couple (2) intakes--but the parts are hard to get. There are people who want them, but those that asked first will get dibs.

2. Will you ship to Japan?

Okay so you do not want to answer either one right now....Still looks great!!!

I would be interested in that too, nice, that would work on a 2000 sr5 right? thats awesome. So the fittings are actually threaded in the pipe, instead of a nut on the inside of the pipe?

(I know this thread is old, but you never really got an answer to this question, and with the renewed interest...)

As a gauge, you've created an Airaid MIT, which runs about $85 list.

Looks great!

Also, no pics of this on a 3rd gen yet, I lag.

I just need to finish cutting the pipe to fit and clean up the boots. I think I have the fittings that will work, if not I need to look at Marcs again.

That looks nice. I had to weld several sections of a mandrel bent 90 together to make mine. I used hump hoses to connect mine since the throttle body side is 2.75" and the intake tube I made is 3". I also welded bungs into mine for the hose connections.

I later painted it.

For what its worth I dont make a damn bit of difference in the power department on a 3.0 since the AFM is so small.... But it sounds like it does

Where did you get the rubber tubes for the ends?? That is the only thing I am having a hard time locating.

All kinds of rubber intake tube things

should find just about anything you need here. Most truck shops have access to this kind of stuff as well but thay charge alot more.

Edit... the rubber hump hose like I used is much stronger than the charge air hose junctions used on intercoolers that have very little movement. Hump hose is designed to move alot and frequently. I used 2.75" to 3" hump hose even though thay dont have it listed on thier web site thay do have it in stock.

I am interested in making my own, but i have a few questions...

1) what are the measurments for the pipe
2) what are the part numbers for the pipe and boots, and how much are they (im guessing from a ford dealer parts department?)
3) what size are the fittings for the hoses
4) also what diameter connections are they? and what diameter is the piping?

Also, I was just thinking since this mod would be freeing up the airflow in the tube, it would make sense to free it up elsewhere as well. So i figured maybe i will go with a K&N universal cone filter instead of hooking it up to the stock air box.

Would this one be the correct size you think:

No responses today?

I called the ford dealer parts dep. and they didnt know exactly what part i was talking about, but he said the pipe was $17 if he was looking at the right one, and the boots he couldnt pinpoint, but he said about $10 each would be the approximate price. I wish i had some part numbers, would be easy to get the prices.
