After a wreck I was in, the two very front fender srtipes (one each side) on my 92 Runner were $90 for two.

My truck is at the body shop, and when I took it in for the estimate the guy there told me that since Toyota no longer makes the factory stripe kit, that there are aftermarket stripes out there that could be substituted. Since the other party's insurance is paying for the damage to my truck's left side, then they would be forced to remove the stripe. There is damage that I caused to the right side of the extended cab and I am paying to have that repaired when they do the left side. I declined on their offer to replace them with aftermarket stripes and I wonder how my truck will look without the stripes after seeing them for so many years. I just can't wait to get the truck back and on the trail hopefully in time for next weekend's WATTORA snow run. I came along on the one last year and had a great time.

farmer tan sticker

if you do choose to remove the stripe completely.... just to warn you..... depending how good your paint is still..... there will be an ever-so-slight, but still prevalent nonetheless, outline of where the sticker was.... just to caution you, the darker the paint color, the more noticeable it is..... the reason is the paint under the sticker is less weathered and is just a little more shiny and new than the paint around it.....

now had the stripe been removed when the truck was newer then it would be a non issue.... depending on the condition of your finish, it can be a big difference .... just be aware of the farmer tan effect when removing the factory decals....

For emblems, heat works really well. Are you thinking of removing the "Tacoma", "SR5", etc. badges from the tailgate and so forth?

Hey kyle I rember that cool paint job! I wonder how it would look on my 94 xtra cab? I may have to snap a pic and play with photo shop and see...
So far as taking off the decals I removed several from my work truck and the (&#^*)^# YJ I had you need to use a heat gun and and a lot of patencience ( i can't spell today) . You might also use a narrow PLASTIC paint scrapper to get under the decal. There may be a clear film left where the decal was after you remove the thing., to get rid of this go over it again with the heat gun and scrapper after it has cooled once this should get it up (it is adhesive film it will be sticky) . Once this is up a good wash and wax should iliminate or mitigate any ghosting issues. good Luck Aviator
