1996 4runner SR5 3.4, 5spd. So this is a 1-owner 96, the lady did all the service, and did everything the "stealer" asked her to do, service wise, dont know if thats a good or a bad thing. She recently changed both the sway bars too, do they go bad? Or was that crappy "stealer"s advice. It is in excellent shape, never been in an accident, has a small dent on the tailgate though, no biggie.

Couple questions:
Why do you need another one? You could swap everything over and ditch the silly automatic...
Isn't the '85 SFA? Why would you want to lose that, major problems?
Why aren't you posting on the NE4ROC board?

I would guess right around $6-7K for it.
If you got it for less you did quite well.

118k miles

the one in the avatar is my 98. the 85 had head gasket issues, even after replacing the head gasket and working on it for a while, coolant was still leaking, hopefully "Sporin" will rip it down again and do it right

since it's in the rust belt, and looks like it has NO options... i'd say that it's "worth" about $6k, and you probally paid $4k since you're excited about it...

That is a smokin price for that vehicle.
You could easily turn a $1-2k profit on it if you wanted.

What are the plans for it?

options are power window, locks, mirrors, moonroof, running boards, rear air, ac, 4.1 rear diff... i forget what else is there on teh sticker, but the sticker price was almost $31k.

plans are to do a suspx/tire upgrade, kinda waiting on bamachem to do a fzj80 spring swap with the 3rd gen, he said about 3" of lift? i want to do about 2-3" lift. i dont want to sacrifice too much mpg, how far can i go with the suxpx mods and not give up too much mpg, i drive 500-600 miles a week on the highway and want to use this rather than the 98.

well, suspension lift means bigger tires.

265/75-16's or 32's, you'll loose about 2 mpg

285/75-16's or 33's, you'll loose about 4-5 mpg

you'll probally be starting at about 19-20 mpg as it is now...

Regearing will help return your gas mileage to a normal range.
The question is, why do you need two trucks set up for off road?? Maybe you should wheel the '96 and trade the other for a commuter vehicle.

so does a supercharger. w/ 285's on the stock 4.10's, i got about 16 on the highway and sometimes less than 15 around town. after the sc went on, it went back up to 18 on the highway and about 17 or so around town. now that i pulled the sc and regeared to 4.56 and have them properly broken in and fresh fluid on them, i'm getting about 17 or so on the highway. also, at the same time that i regeared and pulled the sc, i went from 285's to 305's that are taller, so that is probally the difference that i'm seeing from the sc to non-sc numbers...
