I recently placed an order for the Performance Products 1" springs and Bilstein Shocks. The Springs just arrived today and I thought I share some pics .

I initially placed the full order through Performance Products, but got some bad customer service. I called in to check if it was in stock since they were about 45 mins away and they said yes. Since I was busy that week I just placed the order online, 3 days past and I called in, only find out that the Bilstein shocks were on national backorder till mid April and the springs had not been shipped out. So I canceled the shocks and purchased them from eShocks who had them in stock and will be coming in tomorrow.

This set will be going on a 97 4Runner 2wd...would it make a difference for these springs whether which one is left or right?

I wasn't aware that the PP springs could be used on 2wd. I thought they only had them for the 4wd.

Are they supposed to stiffen up the ride as well as give the 1" lift?

 

You can use them on 2WD or 4WD but the amount of lift you'll get will change. Definately would be good to see and measure before and after the install for others to reference later.

Hey not bad...do you have a pic of the whole truck so we can see the overall stance between the rear and the front? How was the install?

 

How would 2wd and 4wd get different heights from the lift?

 

2wd's have shorter springs stock.

So when you add the PP springs you'll in turn get the height of a 4x4 spring plus the extra ~1" from the PP spring.

Thoughts on the ride/handling? Definitely more bumps in the road, but I'm happy with my Bilsteins.

Yes, that's how yours would look. As said above its 1 inch raise for a 4x4. Or for a 2wd, its 1 inch plus the height difference between the 2wd and 4x4.

They are 265/75/16 Nitto Grapplers.

 

I would have to get NItto's off the internet. My dad wont let me. =[ I have to stick to Firestone Destination A/T'S.

You're my new inspiration. My 4runner is exactly like yours but stock..You changed my life!! How much were the springs and labor?

 

The Bilstein Shocks came in today and now its all complete, awaiting to be installed this Saturday.

As of now its running on stock 2wd springs up front with Tokico Trekmasters and 99 4wd springs in the rear with Tokicos also. The rear springs have sagged over time where it's practically sitting on the bump stops. I had to remove the spare tire to give it just a little over half an inch, as this is my daily driver.

I did the job myself.....
Very basic install. If you attempt
to do it yourself, you'll need a
spring compressor.

I wish I'd have gone with
285/75's in the beginning.

 

dropping the rear axle wasn't too bad?
