PCV valve 2.7. Help!
does the pcv valve on the 2.7 liter 3rz-fe engine have threads or does it just pull straight out?
If it pulls straight out looks like I am going to need a crowbar to get it out.

It either depends on the year or if it has CA emissions. Not sure which is the reason, but my 00 Runner w/ the 2.7 had a screw in style while my buddies 98 2.7 Runner was just a plug in style. So in summary, if it doesn't pop out easily don't resort to the crowbar until you try to unscrew it.

My 01, 2.7 looks like a spark plug and screws in. You need a ratchet and deep well socket. Can't remember the size but it's about like a spark plug as mentioned above. Get something to stand on if you have too and you will see what I'm talking about. Mike

I got it out. It took a good pair of wire pliers. It had a lot of carbon around it and in it. I knocked carbon and oily stuff all over the place. It still rattled and pulled a vacuum, but I am going to replace it anyhow. I can afford 6 bucks.
thanks guys
