passenger window off track?

First of all im a newb and wanted to say HI, to all.

I just bought an 88 4Runner, and im having trouble with getting the passenger side window to stay on its track. The previous owner was using double sided tape, that didnt work. I found the original rubber seal, and im having trouble getting the window on the track with the rubber seal on. Any tips?

I was also having trouble, with the tailgate window but i just fixed that.

So the window isn't going along with the groove provided by the rubber seal?
Or are you having problems with the rubber seal not staying where it's supposed to stay?

im having trouble getting the window on the track using the rubber seal along the bottom of the window. With the rubber piece the window wont go in the track. Without the rubber the window slimply sides off the track.

maybe ill try using electrical tape along the bottom of the window, til it fits snug on the track.

... so you're saying the window won't come out of the door correctly?

Hey there, welcome aboard

I know exactly what your talking about. My '88 did the same thing.
I took the whole window out with the track.
The window would not go back into the track. So i kept trying to push it back down into the track. I felt like i was going to break the window.
I think i sprayed a bunch of Tri-flo and let it sit for a bit.
When the rubber inside the track was good and lubbed i was able to work the window back into the track.
It took me a while and it was a real pain. But it has held for a couple years now.
Hope you can get it fixed.
