Panhard Question

Panhard Question
I have OME 891's and 33x12.50TSLs with almost 2" more backspacing than stock. I had to cut the inside of my rear fender so the tires would fit when flexed. When the wheel is stuffed in the well I have about 1/8" of clearance on the side of the tire.
I want to put a panhard drop bracket on, but will this cause my axel to move more to one side when the wheel is stuffed making my tires rub on the wheel well again?
Thanks
Jeff

wheels with 2" more backspacing than stock would put you at about 6.5" backspacing, which doesnt exist
the panhard drop bracket will center your axle again.
now, notice when you flex that one side will have more clearance than the other.

My mistake. I meant 2" less backspacing.
Anyways.
I did a quick sketch which shows how the bracket works.
-The before shows how the axel moves to one side after lifting.
-The after shows after the bracket is installed. If you notice the tire does move to the outside of the left hand side(very little). I'm just not sure if this is enough movement to the outside to cause problems.

You take the bolt out and drop it back down to the normal position as the panhard has two holes drilled all the way through it, one for the normal position and one for the lifted position.

I think I will make a panhard bracket, with both settings, and see if I rub with it dropped. I have a feeling that I will rub on the inside of the wheel well on the driver side, If I do I'll move it back to it's original position

you should do a search on this forum, this topic has been pounded here in the past pretty hard.

One other question. Does having your panhard in the wrong position cause your alignment to be slightly off. I haven't noticed any problems with tire wear, but does it turn your tires slightly to one side?

use the blinky green thing above and you should find a couple (well, lots) that cover that.
