PA system and speaker...

I was wondering if any of you guys are aware of a way to add volume control to a PA speaker.

Also, which speakers do you recomend?? My friends had them and I seem to remember that one of them was not very good but the other was loud and clear!

Not sure what a "PA" speaker is. Maybe it is a bullhorn or something. Regardless, it is just a speaker. You should be able to but a variable pad on the preamp side of the amplifier, or a L-pad on the speaker side. The L-pad would probably be easier. If I am way off of what you are trying to ask, just let me know.

Is the PA part of you CB or is it a seperate system? If it is on the CB the volume control for the CB will control the volume of the PA. At least thats the way mine is. I have a Cobra CB with the PA speaker under the hood. My CB stays on when the 4Runner is on, and my volume is always all the way up. Not sure about how to do it if it is a seperate system. Might try a bigger speaker. I got a the smallest one they had at my local Boater's World. It is a 4" diameter speaker, thats the biggest I could fit under the hood without haveing to move stuff. Sounds great though, pretty loud.

I am not positive, but I believe that PA stands for "Public Address".
