original window sticker?

i searched around but couldnt really find much

i was wondering if anywhere online you can enter your VIN to see what factory options and such were installed, like the window sticker. or could i take the VIN to a dealer and have them print a list off?

just wondering how to find out options when you're not the original owner

thanks

I think the big question, though, is whether there's a place online that you can get the info. It would be really nice to be able to look things like that up, especially when looking to buy a "new" vehicle. "New" being new to me anyway

Here's an old thread to my window sticker options...

Don't know of any place online you can get that info. Dealer might help, but you'd probably have to bribe them.

I got the original window sticker from the original owner when I bought my 88 4Runner last year. I think the sticker price was around $19,625 for a 1988 SR5 4Runner with almost every option except it has the 5 speed instead of automatic.

Now that this thread reminds me, somewhere I think I still have the original window sticker for my 85 SR5 4Runner. I do remember it was 18,700ish. Had chrome pkg, power pkg, moonroof, 8way seats, stereo w/equalizer, opt clearcoat paint. (Every option except automatic and a/c oddly enough. I added that a year later.) (The a/c not the auto )

Wow, so the 88 with AC and V6 was not that much more than the 85. My first new car ever was an 89 Cavalier Z24 V6, 5 speed that I got for $10,500 so I know I would have never been able to spend close to $20K for a 4Runner. LOL, but then look at what I'm driving to work as my daily driver now, an 88 4Runner.

I know, when we bought it I was 24 or so, and it was a REAL STRETCH to make the payments. We were the first among our friends to buy anything new, except one guy who bought a new (gasp, cough) Civic. It was like $5000.

Wow, $30K for a 1994 4Runner! I never realized how expensive they were when new. I bought a new 97 Tacoma SX with the automatic, no AC and that truck sitckered for low $19's and I thought that was a lot but I wanted the SX with the standard cab, automatic and 31" tires with aluminum wheels.

They have always been expensive. The 18,000 price of the 85 SR5 4Rnr compared with a new S10 Blazer at 12,000 (comparing loaded to loaded) Cherokee at 14,000.

Base price for no frills models were around 14,000 for the 4R, 10000 for the S10 and 11,000 for the Cherokee. I nearly bought a Cherokee - man I am so glad I did not! It would have had the 2.8 V6 - what a lemon that turned out to be! And of course the S10s turn into a worn-out rattle-trap by 40k miles.

I think they 'etch' some form of identification number in the windows and windshield to help id the parts if the vehicle is stolen and chopped up to be sold for parts. It basically engraves it into the glass.

It's the VIN number.. it's etched on all of my windows. Also, original body panels will have the VIN number printed on a label stuck to it.

I thought VIN# on the glass was STD and it's on the window invoice as part of a package.
Also, does that say Full tank of Fuel $139.00?

Full tank - no charge...Body side moldings - $139...

That's quite the fuel for $139
