Anyone else ever do there corners Orange? I've been wanting to do this since I've gotten the truck but I can't find the orange tint anywhere. I've check all over online and come up with nothing. Krylon doesn't seem to make orange anymore and I can't find if testors has a translucent orange like there candy apple red guy use to make there taillights all red. If anyone has any idea where I can get this stuff or something like it let me know. Been looking for 2 weeks now.

Its interesting how fashion changes! Back in '84 I used to own one of the first european cars to have clear corners , a Vauxhall/Opel Astra GTE and, over the years clear corners(and the integration with headlamps) have become the norm. And now, orange is coming back?
Personally I prefer the clears(but each to their own) the orange is too 1970's for me.

just looked around again and i don't see anyone selling that in orange. found blue, red, yellow, green; but not the orange. i remember a couple years ago i was going to do this and found somewhere selling the orange, it was just a quick google search but they must have discontinued that color now cuz it's nowhere. perhaps you could call or write to krylon and see if they have any idea where to find it or if it's still made? or, i guess you could check ebay periodically or put a request in "want it now" on the site and see what comes up. besides that, try the formula listed above with 8oz of color to 1pint of clear, or see if some one in your area has a candy orange to spray on top of your lenses. i'm sure this can be done without the krylon even though that would've been quick, easy, and inexpensive.
post pics if you end up doing this, i'm thinking about it myself.

I think found what I was looking for at a local hobby shop. It's the only transparent orange made anymore. Hopefully it turns out well. I'll post pics once I get it done probably sometime sunday.

Clears would look 10000x better than orange, but that's just my opinion...

Baaaa-Daaaaaas my friend. guess i'll splurge for some on ebay and spray them. just change them out when i get tired of looking at them. seriously, between my '02 grille and my satoshi grill and now these corners and all the other mods i've done, i feel like my 4runner is a Barbie or something and i play dress up with it all the time! *said in the most heterosexual way of course

and could you please post what the product was called that you found in that hobby store? i'd like to track some down for this. thank you.

I dunno man, I don't think it looks that good, I personally think clear looks 100x better. But everybody has there own taste, but it is definitely a different unique mod!

They look really unique. I like them. They're definitely another option aside from the clears that everyone seems to have.

Not saying anything bad about clears, they look good too, I'm just saying I like 'em. =P

You should spray the faded blinkers to match as two shades of orange starts to look ghetto fast. The paint job itself however looks pretty good. Did you do any surface prep or just spray them?

The blinkers will be getting sprayed soon. Only think I did was clean them off and spray them.

I got the spray at a local hobby shop. It's made by Tamiya and it's the only transparent orange available. Came in a 100ml can and was about $9cdn.
