You can get them from here . Scroll down towards the bottom and you'll se what I mean. Here is another link with the more info on the reversed post yellow top. I was thinking about getting them but I don't have a high end stereo system or winch to warrant the need for it. I might if I ever decide to install a winch. Hope this helps.

It's smaller than the red top, but taller. Maybe the spacer would not be needed for it.

From reading on that website, it looks like all I need is a red top. I do have a winch, but it will be rarely used. I've run conventional batteries in my work truck (Z-71) for years with a Warn 8274 winch that is used probably 20 times a year and have never had a problem-that is batteries last about 120,000 miles (about 2 years).

Suggestions-red top or yellow top?

I ordered the 34R reversed post redtop optima. I asked for the spacer. So mounting it underneath did raise the battery up allowiing the use of the stock battery hold down bracket but then caused my positive wires to not quite reach. Using the spacer on the top which would make it cover the positive and negative terminals, then the cover would be held down by the battery hold down bracket. I still wanted access to the terminals in a emergency situation like if you wanted to jump start someone else's car I wanted the quick accessibility. So I did the attached mod to the spacer - this way no board underneath the battery - I just use the stock battery tray, the spacer is still very strong and holds the bettery (not a misspell, i think the Optima is a better battery - hence...bettery, get it? Ha!) nicely but now I also have access to the terminals and my wires reach just right!!

Here'a another pic. Other side. Is it secure in there? I can grab the bettery and rock the entire truck with it back and forth. It ain't going nowhere!

Where did you get the battery from? Somehow, I was told the battery spacer doesn't come with the battery anymore. What's the part number? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Call up Powerstride battery co. (909) 273-2200
The spacer item # is AD-24R. Price is 9.97 + ship

It is the same one you'll see in the pic but remember, I modded mine with a dremel. I can definitely do a better job cosmetically next time. I think you can order this on the web. Do a search for 'em. Hope this helps Goerge.
Regards,
El.

You can re-bend the stock hold down bracket and eliminate the 1" spacer

Thanks Bruce. I will be doing that tomorrow. I was in a hurry to have it installed the other so I can go back to the ship.

Don't forget the blue top.

Marine/RV Battery
OPTIMA Blue Top batteries, featuring SPIRALCELL TECHNOLOGY, are designed for all of your marine and RV, starting and deep cycle needs.

Vibration Resistant
The constant vibration and jarring from waves can be deadly for traditional marine batteries. The tightly wound construction in OPTIMA batteries minimizes plate movement and subsequent damage caused by harsh conditions - extending battery life.

Constant Performance Quality
OPTIMA Blue Top batteries provide constant performance quality as they are discharging. Even as energy is being drained, your equipment will perform at the same level as when the battery was fully charged. Meaning, you will not hear or feel your equipment slow down or strain for power.

Nonspillable
Because of its completely sealed case, OPTIMA Blue Top batteries are extremely safe. Acid can't leak or spill, making them clean, user-friendly and environmentally sound. In addition, the maintenance free sealed case design eliminates the need to add water or clean terminals.

Retains Charge / Recharges Faster
Marine batteries sometimes sit for months at a time and lose their charge. But the OPTIMA Blue Top battery has such a low rate of self-discharge, that it can go unused for up to one year without recharging, if it's kept at room temperature or below. And because of its low internal resistance, it recharges faster, getting you back on the water quickly.

Mounts in Almost Any Position
OPTIMA Blue Top batteries are leak proof, so they can be mounted anyplace inside boats or RVs, in almost any position.
No reverse pole though. Works perfect in a 2nd Gen.

Go - BLUE - A little mod needed to fit the 3rd Gen, but worth it!
