No doubt..... My wife's accident is still fresh in my mind. My Tacoma didn't have half the damage as yours. Don't be surprised if the insurance company totals your 4 runner.

Yeah, I think this will be the end of this thread and I'll start a new one when the real work begins. At least I won't need to do Operation Clean the damned frame after this! I'm trying to get quotes for shipping a rolling chassis now but having trouble finding some one to ship it since it does not run and won't have steering hooked up. I'll find something, uShip might net some one that can handle it. I just wish it was here already, I'd be at the shop working on it!!!!

Too bad you don't live closer. I could help you work on your ride... One problem. I'm terrible at bodywork, so so fabrication skills.....

Luckily there isn't much body work on this repair, just a lot of disconnecting, swapping, and reconnecting. I do think I'm going to beef up a few places on the chassis while it's out like the trailing arm mounts and the rear upper shock mounts. Maybe box in the frame in the rear as well. I'm going to be so sick of this thing when it's finally done!

Sucks about the 4runner..glad you got the place and skills to bring it back.
Having been rear ended a couple of times I would recommend getting checked out. I have back issues I am positive that go back 20 years from an accident I thought I was fine..
Of course 65+ jumps and rappelling in the military probably contributed too...

Looking forward to the rebuild thread

Just a thought but maybe it's time for a suspension revision? Maybe change to leaf springs to simplify your life.

Amazing truck. ˟˟˟˟ty to hear about though.

Well, this is definately not what I was expecting to see when I woke up this morning! Glad to hear that you came out unscaved. Too bad you can't say the same for the pattywagon. I'm still working crazy hours, but if you need a ride, don't hesitate to ask.

If you see some guy waving at you in a red-ish pink Corolla, unfortunately that's ME! I shouldn't need a ride but thanks for the offer Shaun.

Mitchell - If I had more time to tinker I would look into it, but I think I'll have to go with what bolts up to the original frame and just beef up the weak points for now. This is our busy time of the year at the shop so I don't think they want a dead horse taking up space where they could be making more money so I'll probably get a strict deadline on when to be finished.

dropzone/KZN - I'll schedule an appointment with my doc just to be safe. My stomach was all in knots the night it happened and I didn't know if it was nerves or from the impact and being stopped by the seat belt. I've had back trouble for about 10 years now so I'm hyper sensitive to how I move around, I'm really surprised I haven't felt anything yet for as violent an impact it was.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

That was unexpected, hope your doctors appointment checks out and you get the new runner looking better than ever!

I'm fine, thanks. Still fighting the insurance company to pay for the doctor visits after the accident though. Lesson learned, I'll lawyer up if this ever happens again since insurance companies seem to think they aren't liable for anything.

The rebuild went pretty good, had a thread going on the progress. The 4runner is back on the road minus the rear bumper. I'm putting together a list of supplies for a rear bumper build shortly. Before that though, my front wheel bearings need replaced and I just noticed the left rear axle seal failed the other day so that's on the list as well. So, I've got some maintenance to do before she's back to her old self again.

Just found this thread, what a seat of the pants ride! Can't wait to see more on the Patywagn, glad to see she's up and running. Loved the TRD decals, look fab with the drab. Need. More. Pics.
But no more carnage pics! Those hurt to look at!

You prolly and very most likely have, but just in case...have you checked those wires under the boot between body and hatch for anything broken concerning the wiper?

I was doing a Google image search for information regarding olive green bed liner as an exterior paint job for my JEEP. Someone shares a photo of their vehicle in your thread and you have a hissy fit- pathetic. Grow up retard.
