One year service

I'm getting ready to take my 03 Surf in for it's one year service.

Here is what I have on my list of things to get done. Please let me know if you think I should have any other maintenance done. I have about 15K kilometers.

1. Third oil and filter change. Mobile 1 and TRD filter.
2. Wiper blades.
3. AC filter.
4. Lube all the fittings.
5. Air filter (If I can- still waiting for an AF- TRD or other).

Should I get the tranny and diff fluid changed to synth?

I have about 5K kilometers on my REVO'S. Should I rotate them or wait another few K?

Anything I'm missing?

Also, weather permitting, I'm going to wash, clay and wax this weekend. I polished the last time, three months ago. This time I plan on using a Pebble Beach Concourse method of applying the Griots BOS wax.

I'm going to apply a coat of BOS wax, wait four hours, apply a second coat, let it set all night and then buff out with the MF towels. Any thoughts on this process?

Thanks for any input.

switch to either amsoil 0w30 synth with amsoil filter or mobil 1 superSyn with some good filter.

might be a good idea to do differential and tranny and replace with synth fluids as these tend to have a lot of metal shavings in them especially when new.

if you have a HEPA filter, replace that.

It couldn't hurt to go ahead and replace your diff fluid (I do mine every 20K). Also, just good maintenance to do your tranny. You could at least just drain the pan, replace the filter, and then refill with new fluid....unless you really want to switch over to synthethic.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, I rotate my tires every 6000 miles, or every other oil change. So I'd say ya, just go ahead and do it.

In to the dealership if I understand you correctly and damn I hate converting km to miles...so that is about 9.3K miles. I don't know if it is the time interval that matters so much it is as the mileage that does.

Definitely an oil change/filter if it is time for it. I change mine at 5K intervals and rotate the tires at the same time myself, as I rotate (5) tires instead of (4). No sense to have a nice never used spare, put it to use and get some money OUT of it.

If your wiper blades are showing signs of dry rotting and wear, and not working like they should, gapping, go for it. I just replaced mine for winter.

As far as all that other stuff, I wouldn't do it until the scheduled maintenance time based on mileage.

I personally don't see any real benefits of spending extra money on synthetic fluids if you maintain routine maintenance. Kinda like having extra fluffy toilet paper with 24K gold specs in it, you are still just flushing it...

Just be prepared for your elbows to fall off getting that wax off there. If I was going to let it sit that long I would get a buffer bonnet for my PC. It'll shine like crazy, but you'll earn it!!! Make sure you take

I don't think it will be any harder to get the BOS off after two coats and setting over night. It isn't easy coming off even doing a panel at a time.

I have the wax removal bonnet for the PC but I haven't found the right technique for using it properly. I can only get it to remove small amounts of the wax.
