was just curious about the 882 coils height. are the 881 with the top spacer about the same height as the 882 coil? so would the 881 with spacer front and lc coils in the rear give an almost level rake? am asking because in the meantime im going 881/906 combo(no spacer) bout down the road when i eventually put 285s on, i would like to get a higher lift. only running 31s with 881/906 right now since tires are brand new. just would like to know. i don't want 882 since i heard there a bit stiffer than the 881. i won't ever have a winch or heavy front bumper up front, just the factory bumper. anyone chime in on this

Measured the distances from the hub to fender. Rear was 59" and front was 63" so there is definately a little rake. I think a bumber will take care of this.

I would recommend making a sway bar disconnected for the front or removing it all together. It will noticeably help with wheel travel in the front. Here is a few pictures of my old 97 once I broke and removed the sway bar.

I think some of my problem of the rake is bc I forgot to put the 5100 on it's lowest setting. I'm gonna have to take them off and change that. I think once I get a bumper It shouldn't bounce but if the problem persists I will definately get the custom valved version. I though toytec sold the custom valved one or why else would they put them on their website for the 3rd gens? Gonna have a talk with them reeaall soon. I don't mind a slight rake, I think it looks pretty good now but will prob look a little better when I put the shocks on the lowest setting. I'll be in little rock tomorrow, I'll be fixing everything soon.

Got my diff drop on, lowered the cv's a good amount. Seems like some of the bouncing was eliminated too. Once I get the shocks on the lowest setting, I'm hoping everything will be fine. cv's are still throwin grease all over though lol

talked to toytec... they said those 5100 adjustables are pretty firm and I'm getting the bounce from maxing the height out. He said to put it on the lowest setting and I should be fine. He suggested I really should have gotten OME all the way around but to run those bilsteins they need to be on the lowest setting. They have ran those bilsteins on numerous vehicles with no problems on OME coils from what he described.

got some time fix the shocks and put them on the lowest setting but i've ran into another problem now. The ride is great thought and the cv's are at decent angle but the top of the shock stick out the top like they aren't getting compressed by the coil. I dunno what the deal is. You can grab the shock and wiggle it it's so loose. The only thing I can think of is do it all over again and put it on the middle setting. Third times a charm I guess. Here's a couple pics

Yep. Though for the above reasons, not for the reason that you can grab it and wiggle it around. You can wiggle it cause its not setup correctly somehow...I can't quite tell from the pic whats missing though...the lower of the two top bushings maybe?
Def missing something in there...after looking at mine, I think maybe the lower of the top shock bushings was left out...or perhaps the bushing is there, but
the washer that goes underneath it is not...? I'd double check that they're assembled correctly.
Though you still should get rid of those billsteins and get some OME N91s instead. I'd say get the bilsteins from SS but you can't buy just the bilsteins from them...you have to get the whole "front lift".
FWIW, I was in your same shoes a year ago... I pieced together my own kit and used the Taco 5125s up front. That configuration SUCKS. I went nearly a year on it that way...dunno how I did it. I'm now on OME shocks all around and I absolutely LOVE it.
***For future readers: EITHER GO OME SHOCKS WITH OME COILS OR TRD/LC COILS; OR A COMPLETE SS KIT FOR YOUR 3RD GEN 4RUNNER. THE STANDARD 5125 TACOMA BILSTEINS SUCK ARSE ON THE 4RUNNER.***
