I have LC coils rear and 1.5" spacers up front that go between the top of the coil and top of the strut (not on top of the whole assembly) It does not have enough lift I need for the front.

Which would be better? I am not going to wheel it much so Im not too worried about travel. Pros and cons of both would be awsome. Also if I got the OME, would I have to get new shocks?

When I first lifted my rig, I went with the Daystar 2.5" spacer kit. Stock springs will not stand up long term with the additional load of the spacers and will sag. I learned this lesson the hard way and am now using LC coils in the rear and will be installing OME 882's/N91SC's next week. The rears were sagged to 1.5" of lift and now the fronts have also sagged to 1.5" of lift, which is bad when you're running 285's! Please, do it right the first time with coils and avoid spacers! It might be a little more expensive initially, but spacers will sag.

As far as fitting the 882's to stock length shocks, it cannot be done (I tried)! You will need to use OME N91S or N91SC shocks to fit the longer length of the springs. They're the only shocks that I know of that extend far enough.

Also, I hope you're talking about 882's and not 992's!

And are you talking about the spacers that go on top of the whole assembly (strut) or the ones that just compress the spring more?

 

I suggest spending the extra money now and getting the OME coils. I think you'll be happier in the long run and with the ride quality right away. I've had OME coils on two of my trucks and was very happy with them.

 

As stated in your other thread...I would go coils.

I made the mistake of going spacers first and I will never do that again.
I'd rather not have a lifted rig than have one with spacers...

My Daystar spacer kit has a 2 piece spacer. One half is installed in the coil pack and the other half is used sort of as a top out spacer. IIRC, the Toytec kit uses a one piece spacer that fits in the coil pack. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Toytec kit that is installed in the coil pack would compress the springs even more. As stated before, no matter which spacer you use, they will both sag the stock coils.

If you buy a good quality shock, such as OME, you will spend a little over $100 per shock. Add another $150 for the 882 coils and $40 for a diff drop and you'll have ~$400 in the front lift. You could get by cheaper initially with spacers, but in the long run, you'll be replacing them with coils anyway. I spent $300 on my Daystar spacer lift kit. I've since spent ~$500 on my LC coils and OME front lift (882's and N91SC shocks), which will not sag much over time. Yes, it's $200 more up front, but you won't be replacing parts anytime soon either.

It's your call, but nearly everyone I've talked to would never go with spacers again...including me. Spend a little more up front and you'll be much happier with your lift. OME is good stuff and the 882's should nearly lift the front enough to match the rears. Good luck!

ya, I get what yall are saying now. I am about to go back to school and the budget is real tight and RIGHT NOW I can't justify spending the extra $300 for the front. I am a tight ass right now. But maybe for Xmas I will ask for the front. I will hopefully get some pics soon.

No problem! Another thought is to continue searching this site's marketplace and other Yota sites as well. You might pickup a nice set of springs and/or shocks on the cheap.
