OME 881/890 front level problem

So I installed some OME 881/890 + Nitrochargers on my 98' last summer, ever since the front has felt messed up.

It feels like the front passenger side suspension is just not moving up or down ever, and when on a flat surface it feels like the front right is lower. It only feels ok when the right hand side of the road is raised up compared to the left. It also tends to pull to the right most times but sometimes left. When I go over a pavement change that is equal on both sides it feels like only the left side is going up and down and then it will jump to the right.

It does need an alignment on that corner especially but I am not sure I should have that done till I figure out if anything else is wrong.

Help!

If you get your alignment at someplace like BigO tire they will warranty it for 30 days. You could get the alignment done first then see if your problem is still there. If it is, troubleshoot some more and then get the alignment rechecked if you have to do more repairs. I recently did something similar at BigO and they did the alignment for no cost the second time around.

I thought about doing that. But I really want to find out what is wrong first.

I went and measured it yesterday and the right front wheel is about 1/2 and inch lower than the front left.

Any ideas?

What do you mean it "jumps to the right"? Maybe a few things need to be double checked if you installed them yourself:

Did you get the driver/passenger side struts mixed up? or rear springs?

if you are having too much trouble with turning then an alignment shop would help diagnose it before doing the alignment.

when you said the right front was lower than the left, did you jack it up and measure? or are you just measuring from wheel well to tire?

When I go over a sudden pavement change, say 1.5" of new pavement in a section of road the front of the car seems to jump right... this may just be the alignment but it feels like the right hand side is rock solid and does not cushion the impact.. The left strut pushes and seems to rotate the front of the runner to the right slightly.

I did the back and had a shop install the front, they came assembled and were labeled left and right... The tags have since ripped off so is there any way to tell left from right?

I measured from wheel well to tire on a flat surface without jacking it up.

If i remember correctly the springs on the driver side are longer, to compensate for weight usually being on the left side (gas tank, battery, driver). It is possible that the top plate spacer was installed wrong, the struts were mixed up, installed wrong, assembled wrong. There are a ton of things that could be wrong. I would go back to the shop and have them check.

Trouble is I moved 200 miles away from the shop that did it and their labor warranty has lapsed by now.

was the truck aligned after the install? even though the 881's with out spacers raised mine an inch, and needed to be aligned. that was after I figured out they installed the 881's where I ordered the 882's. so lucky me had to get it aligned twice.

I got it alligned, but I did to sway bar bushings and the front ones were totaly gone... metal on metal just about.

Maybe it does just need an allignment... and the difference between front right and left is normal?

I had close to the same symptoms and there was two issues. Check the INNER tie rod end and check the wheel unit. One or both items could cause that issue.
