Old Style Goodyear M/T

I saw a jeep with the old style Goodyear M/T on it and I have to say it looks really good. It looks like a good compromise between Goodyear's A/T tires and the MT/R. It kinda reminds me of the X-terrain a little bit but with shorter lugs and less void between lugs. Does anyone know if these are still available or have they been discountinued due to the MT/R?

A quick trip to goodyear.com reveals they are no longer. That link will show you the available shoes from them.

Here's a quote from one of their press releases in 1999 when the MT/R came out:

"Similar to the pioneering Aquatred, the Wrangler MT/R tire communicates its function with an open tread design. In fact, the new tire has nearly 300 percent more open space in its footprint on the road than the tire it replaces, the Wrangler MT."

That sucks. I thought it looked like a good compromise that they should keep. Oh well, I guess thats Goodyear's loss.
