oil capacity for 2nd gen

The 3.0 in the 90-95 4runner holds 4.8 quarts, correct? Just making sure.

I put in a tad more than 4.8 when I do my changes.

I think the owners manual says 4.2 w/o filter 4.8 with... I always need about 5.

Just depends on where exactly you want the reading on your oil dipstick (once the filter is full after starting it). 5 quarts will put it right about at the full mark. A lot of people like to have their readings between 1/2 and 3/4 up the dipstick, I think to allow room for expansion when it heats up. It's all up to you.
