Oil in air filter
hi, I checked my air filter today and noticed there is oil in the bottom of intake box and part of the filter. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything on it. Is this bad? Thanks.

oil in air filter
My first thought would be the pcv valve or hose leading to it is clogged or pluged. That would cause excess pressure in the crankcase and force oil out of the engine. I've seen it happen on several different import and domestic vehicles (not going to bad mouth the manufactors). HTH

Check the compression to.If its got a lot of miles? It could have a cracked piston ring.I had a 22r do that one on me, But it had been there and back.Just something to think about.Dose it use oil and is it smoking any out the tail pipe.Dont panic these are just a few things to check. The sooner you find the problem the less damage it will do.

Recently I have noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust, but it only happens about once a week, also i have noticed on long road trips my 4runner will use almost all of its oil.
Thanks for your post.
