Toyota will be getting competion in midsize trucks from Nissan and GM and Dodge, and that will moderate prices to some extent. And with big rebates, the full size trucks from Ford, GM, and Nissan seem to have prices comparable to the Tacoma's.

I find it interesting that the new 05 Tacoma's have 9.5" of ground clearance and my '03 Double Cab had 11.2" stock. The extended cabs had 12" from the factory. Boooooo on lower ground clearance!
the factory are now 245/75's instead of 265/70's
They may have done this to improve the gas mileage rating.
