Anyone know if the "Disabling The Toyota 4Runner Factory Electric Locker Safety" write-up posted by HBoss can be done on a '01 which has all the VSC/ABS bull˟˟˟˟˟ linked to the 4x4 system (+ locking center diff)??

Well... no. Now that I think about it, I can push the 'center diff lock switch' on the dash and lock the center diff anytime I'm in 4WD. Here's the kicker though. It will ONLY disable VSC when I've locked the center diff and put it in 4Lo. Anything other than 4Lo and the VSC (ABS) system still activates to prevent wheel spin.

Hillbilly,
When you lock the center diff, the VSC is diabled, hence the "VSC OFF" light on the dash. What stays enbaled is the ActiveTRAC system that replaced the e-locker for 2001-02 and beyond. It also uses the ABS system to imitate a center locker and to transfer power between the wheels. This works in both 4Hi and 4Lo and there isn't a way to disable it unless you remove the ABD computer.

I knew that, but sometimes my fingers chatter faster than my brain. I'll assume you meant the ABS ECU, not ABD?!?
