I am not sure how much my stock bumper weighs (it is in storage right now), but my TJM T15 bumper (the one with the grill guard) weighs 110 lbs., and my front only dropped 1/8". I do not have a winch mounted yet, so I can't comment how much it will drop with a winch.

I would guess the T17 would weigh even less than the T15 if you don't like hoops on the bumper.

if you want to limit the amount of weigh get a TJM t-17. plain bumper. Looks aawesome.

if you are planning to wheel this, then keep it black. much easier to touch-up...ask me how I know

Looks sick. my tjm t-17 didn't drop my front end at all. i don't think it weighed much more than my stock setup.

 

Like it. In fact I am looking at those rims for mine with a set of 285's also. I like the clean factory LC rim look.

My TJM T-15 only dropped my front a 1/4". Which I am not at all concerned with because it keeps my CV's happy and when I wheel it and load her down with tools and camping gear/fire wood it levels out almost perfectly.

Do you think this lift setup is to much lift to just run 265/75/16s
I don't want it to look like I'm running donut spares.

 

I think it might be a little much for 265s.... the front with only 1 spacer, or even no spacers and a set of OMEs in the rear might look better .... or even the 1" PPs looked good on this truck with 265s

Bob, I live in Canada as well, is it cheaper to get the shocks/coils through a dealer and get the rest of the package from SS? Reason for asking is I got nailed on the duty when I bought a spacker kit from Daystar and it had to come across the boarder.

 

I got my springs used from a guy on this forum, and then I got my shocks from the dealer.... If you go to the dealer with those part #s you will be suprised how much less the SS setup is... I cant fully remember, but the dealer here wanted $175 a spring ( X4 ) then the rear shocks were like $40 each and the frots like $175 each.... right there is $1100 canadian.... you then still need many more parts to make this happen... I have mine with 2 top up spacer per side in the front too....

Yes you will have to pad duty, but in the end I still think the SS setup will be cheaper, and it arrives at your front door in one big box!

Man,the dealers are a rip since I got my stuff on-line and only spent about $350+ shipping for shocks and coils.

whats the duty on automotive products? is it 6%? depending on what the item is, its almost always cheaper to get through the US and pay the taxes + duty (if applicable). yes i know..support your local market. but when our dollars been pretty competitive lately..its hard to pass up on the savings.

 

Live and learn... next time I will order all from the US.... I had already got coils and top ups before I knew you could order it all from SS.......

From what I can figure the PanHard drop bar (from SS) is not necessary... is this correct? There was some discussion on this on the forum before about the proper location and mounting of hte PanHArd bar, but the drop bar is only a different geometry and not a different length? Yes? No? I can not see clearance issues with the stock bar, and if the lengths (C-C) of the two bars are the same then the effects will be the same, right?
