Question O2 sensor-how tight should it be?

I'm gonna put a new exhaust system on my truck this sunday (sunday! sunday! SUNDAY!) and I was wondering if anyone knows if I need to sweat the torque for the O2 sensor bolts? If I do, what should I torque it to? Probably inspired by lasts nights thread asking who has/uses a torque wrench.
BTW, its looking pretty rusty, if I can't get it out, anyone know roughly what the stealership will stick me for if I have to get a new sensor?

Thanks-
Ian

Hit the nuts with some penatrating oil a few hours (or night before) you start. When I did mine I didnt bother with the tourque wrench. Tight is tight, if its too loose you'll leak exaust, if its too tight you'll re thread those stupid studs. I would go with your gut. You will be able to do this yourself. Dont give the dealership any of your money

If you go with Mossback's suggestion (not that I'm saying it's bad cause I don't know) you may want to check back a couple of times every so often to make sure it's not coming loose.

I don't know what I'm talking about so here's a bump

I use the finger method with a ratchet.
I would do it as tight as you can with 2 fingers on the ratchet.
That will be tight enough but not enough to strip the threads.

No worry about that, if I DO have to get a new one (we'll know in about 12 hours) I found a great price at the aptly named www.oxygensensors.com

Thanks for the tightening tips. Threadlocker anyone?

Looking around I found This little tibit . Its not specific but it'll give you an idea. I'll go out on a limb and say 30 ft/lbs is tight. When I dont use a torque wrench I usually look at the specs, say my wrench is a foot long, that feels like about 30 lbs, its tight.
Toight like a tiger.
