Noise after pinion seal replacement

So I just replaced the rear axle, and pinion seals in my 97 tacoma. I wasn't thinking and didn't mark the pinion nut. I put it back on to where I thought was close to where it was. Mayby a little tighter. I now have a howl/almost rubbing noise when I let of the gas or decelerate. I'm not real familiar with rearends, but does this sound like it's too loose? I don't wanna try tightening it more if that's not the problem. I thought I remember that Noise when decelerating is too loose. Just want to make sure thanks

You shoulda torqued the nut to 100 foot pounds, or a little more. I routinely tighten 'em to 140fp.

If it was quiet before, it should still be quiet.

I'm gonna pull it back apart tm night. Seemed like it had a lot more than 100ft/lbs on it, but I'll try that
