Newbie, lots of questions...
Bob-98SR5 recommened this forum to me, thanks Bob.
My questions for all of you is that how many quarts of transmission fluid do you need to do a complete flush? I need to know because I'm getting ready to order some Amsoil ATF. I have heard somewhere from 13-15 quarts. Is this true?
Question #2, what is the recommended change interval for the supercharger belt? Is it the same with the other belts?
Question #3, I'm approaching the 30K, I need to do the 30K tune-up. Should I bring it in to the stealer to do it, or should I take it to someone else (non-dealer) that can do it for cheaper? If I take it to the non-dealer and do it, would it void my warranty?
Last question, If I were to upgrade my tires from 265-70-16 (31s) to 265-75-16 (32s), and If I were to get a flat. Will I be able to use the spare (265-70-16), since it's a different overall diameter?
Sorry to post too many questions

Hey Tony,
Glad you made it here. How's dem clear corners working out for ya?
#1) Jalaber wrote an outstanding page on fluid replacement and some tools/DIY machines that you might consider purchasing if you go the DIY route. I'm contemplating the same so check his page out at http://www.top4runners.com and then click on "Synthetic Fluids" in the left nav bar.
#2) No clue. No S/C
#3) No clue b/c I do most of my maintenance w/ the exception of the "hard stuff" (i.e. timing belts, etc). But as I understand it, you are not required to have your service done at the dealership in order to keep the warranty in effect. That would be the death knell for dealership car sales, in my opinion.
#4) Anyone nutty enough to try it? I'm sure if you have no choice you could, but I would think that wouldn't be too safe. But safer than a Ford Exploder on a set of Firestones on any given day.

The answers for #1 and possibly #2 can be found at www.gadgetonline.com . (Although I have a feeling you already found that site since you know about amsoil?)
3) don't know
4)I don't see why not, though I've never tried it. I figure it this way:
In 2wd your truck is just like any other 2wd car with the donut spare. Your rear diff is not connected to your front diff.
In 4wd you're only supposed be on surfaces that slip anyways, so that doesn't matter.
I probably wouldn't go 80mph with a dissimilar spare though.
FWIW, I am running 32s but still have the 31 spare.

Guys, thanks for the replies.
Bob, I still haven't put the clears on yet, maybe I'll do it this weekend, thanks again for the clears.
Butnut, it took 22 quarts to do a complete flush, wow. Did you do the cooler line flush method or the pump flush method. Gadget mentioned that the pump flush method is better, and it used up more ATF.

Question 1) If you go the cooler line method of flushing like I did, bring 13-15 quarts of fluid to the place to load up their machine. Then keep 2 quarts around (to be safe) to top off the trans. I think mine took one qt or a little more to bring up the level after the flush. So I would say to buy 17 qts Amsoil.
Question 4) If you do not lock the axle with the dissimilar tire on it then you should be fine till you get a new tire or a patch job.
Question back to the rest of you guys...will a 265/75/16 fit underneath with factory hitch in place.
