Newbie hello and a remote question

Hi, I'm new to this site, but not to toyota's. I've had a hand full of pickups and still own a landcruiser. Anyway I just bought my first 3rd gen 4runner. Its a 96 limited, 140k, immaculate condition. I payed $7500, which seems a little high, but it was in so much better shape than most that I had looked at that I figured a well maintained toy with 140 would be better than a questionable one with less miles. Anyway here's pic. (the paint really looks like showroom condition)

The question I have is with the keyless entry. The remote is a two button "toyota" brand remote. One button does the door locks, on and off, the lights and chirp and all that. Works fine. THe second buttond does nothing. I have the original manual, but it says nothing about the remote. My guess is it was a dealer or dock add on. Anyway I stopped in at the toyota dealer and asked what the second button was for. The guy (service dept) told me that the box had a second circuit that I could use for anything I wanted and they simply werent hooked up for anything when the control module or whatever you call it was installed.
My question is first whether that's true. Second, if not what does the button do? and third if it is true, where is the box located and what are it's capabilities ie, just on/off or can it be programed to do more like roll down the rear window/ or turn on the headlights for 30seconds. (I'm assuming that it's not capable of remote start, but if it were that'd be sweet) I may throw in an astrostart anyway, but not for a while.
Thanks in advance!

This does not have remote start capabilities. It could however be wired to control the back glass/headlights i would imagine

The second button is to be programmed with another RS3000 head unit. It's just so if you have two toyota's you can open either one by using the same remote.

Or if you want, you can program both buttons for your truck.

Thanks for the info! So the control unit in the vehicle only has the one function right? Also I'll search for the rs3000 head unit. Is this something that the dealer installed or is this a factory option?

Thanks
