I don't really remember exactly but I would say actual muffler is about 14-16", with inlet/outlet its probably 20" or so...maybe a tad shorter...I can measure it for ya if you need me to.

Same as 4x4Fink. My 18" Magnaflow was a bit too loud at highway speeds. How does the Vortex do in that category from the inside? If I can get convinced, I might try it when I get my 2.5" system.

He's got a Tacoma...if you've ever pulled up next to a Chevy/Ford with Flows, it'll sound like that but not as loud...a nice deep, mellow tone...but when you hit the gas it really wakes up! I set off on average 4 car alarms a day driving through campus to class...its a lotta fun!

EDIT: marko has a '98 and oly has a Taco

That's short, shorter than the 18" Magnaflow. It sounds loud on Jason's website too. Does it really disappear during highway driving at 2.5k RPMS ish (from the inside)?

Yeah that's what I thought. I liked the sound of the 18" MF, maybe it'll sound nicer with a 2.5" pipe. If not, I can go 24" @ 2.5" pipe, if nothing else. Oh godh I am so picky...

If your Magnaflow annoyed you at highway speeds then I would advise against the Vortex...I'm used to it by now so it doesn't bother me and by the time I get my BFG's on here...not a big deal at all, but I understand what you mean.

Good luck!

There may be a very tiny difference in sound...but I would stick with the factory size pipe.

You mean the sound of MT's will overtone the exhaust?

I personally believe a bigger exhaust pipe will yield a deeper tone, but I am not sure. Can anyone confirm?

I wanna get 2.5" in preperation for a supercharger/turbo (2.5 is too small for turbo, but better than 2.25). Also, 2.5" gives you a better top end at stock, lower bottom end.

From what I measured the stock piping size for the 3.4L V6 is 2.45"
