New V6?

Has anyone ever looked at buying a V6 crate motor from Toyota? I was wondering how much a brand new motor would cost. It would be pretty sweet to have my truck like brand new.
I know it would be cheaper to find a salvage one, but I am just looking at al of the options.

V6 engine

Livelarg, send me your VIN # and I will quote you a price.

CLin9383, you might as well buy a new car instead of putting in the current V6. But for argument sake, you would need a new wiring harness, ecu, new tranny, possibly a new pilot shaft and third member. If you are interesed let me know I can get them for you.

Todd

not trying to jack the thread but while your pulling a price for those parts could you:

what kind of price could you get me on a rear axle shaft for a '98 4runner sr5 4wd v6 16" wheels no locker? the new one, not the obsoleted old design, I can get the part number if you need it, it's at home since I already replaced the drivers axle shaft with the new design. I'm assuming the new design was to fix the leaky seal.
EDIT:
old part number - 4231135280
new part number - 4321135400

and maybe one more thing if ya don't mind; I need the plastic pull bracket with the webbing handle on it that attaches to the underside rear of the rear seat cushion that you use to hinge the seat up with. my dealer here wants like 30 bucks for it!

Thanks in advance.

Kiesur, the shaft would run you $251.23. Don't know what the shipping would be on that one yet. Email me if you're intersted. As for the second part, are you talking about the handle that moves the seat forwards and backwards?

I just thought I might get a better deal on the axle than at sterling mccall, $231. I may or may not need to replace it, have to see if these seals hold.

the other part is a pull strap attached to a plastic bracket. It screws {with one screw} into the bottom rear of the rear seat bottom, haha, that's a twister for you.

You use it to grab ahold of and pull to rotate the seat bottom up so you can lay the seat back down to make the cargo area bigger. when the backseat is setup for somebody to sit in it, you see the webbing handle strap sticking through the crack. one on each seat bottom. If I had the digital cam here at work I'd give you one because I have the broken pieces on my desk right now. it is held in by one screw.

I am wanting to upgrade to a 3.4 V6.
What esle would I need besides the wiring, airbox, etc to put it in my 88'?
and how much would a 3.4 cost?

The other question is, can you get me a passenger seat for my 88' or the Y-shaped cable from under the seat that allows the seat to slide forward?

HOLDER ASSY FOR RR SEAT

Ok keisur, I found it but it is about the same price $29.12. In addition you would have to pay shipping so I would go to your local dealership on that one, sorry. As for the shaft, I can give it to you for $230 plus shipping.

V6 Upgrade

Livelarge, I would need your VIN in order to see in my system exactly what you have in order to tell you what you need. As for the V6 3.4 it all depends on the VIN.

they todd, how bout this?

on a friends 94 4runner he has a "door" switch for his map lights on the upper consol and another door switch for his main cab light. but on my 95, i only have a door light for my main cab light. what would it take to get this door switch for my map lights?

also, on my 95 4runner there is a plastic strip that is on the inside of the cab, right before the rear door. it has 5 screws to hold it down. for each of those 5 screws there is a little plastic cover that snaps, more or less, over those screws. i seemed to have misplaced one. how can i get one? or do i have to buy a whole set of 5? or do i have to buy the whole pannel?

one more... on my 95 there are 2 hinges for each of the bottom rear seats so they can fold forward. there is a cover on each of these hinges. i am missing my furthest right one. how much for a replacement?

VIN is JT3VN29V7S0067252

so just pull the seats and the hinges out. saves you money on the hinge cover.

Parts

L33T35T, the rear seat hing would cost $7.26 and I would have to order (3 to 5 business days) and the bezel for the rear tailgate goes for a whopping .59 which I can have tomorrow if you place the order today. As for the light switch that is a custom job, I would love to see a pic of it and find out how they did it.

its2slo
What kind of rig do you have and I will let you know how much the headers cost.

Todd

BTW That amp setup is freakin cool!
